💸 What is actually good under $15
Stationery and small accessories are genuinely good cheap: 80% of the stationery we carry is under $15, at a median of about $7. Plush and blind boxes are not, and buying either at that price usually means buying a worse version.

These numbers come from our own catalogue of 4,426 products across twelve shops, counted rather than estimated. About 1,045 of them, roughly a quarter, sit under $15.
Where cheap is genuinely good

Stationery is the standout. Pens, sticker sheets, memo pads and washi are cheap because they are cheap to make well, not because the cheap ones are compromised. A $7 gel pen from a good shop is the same object a $12 one is.
Where cheap is a compromise

Only 7% of plush is under $15, and there is a reason. Below that line you are usually getting thinner stuffing, shorter pile and looser stitching, which are exactly the three things that decide whether a plushie still looks good in a year.
The rule of thumb: under $15, buy something flat. Paper, stickers, charms and small accessories are honestly good at that price. Anything stuffed, cast or boxed is better bought one tier up or not at all.
Getting more for the money
- •About 171 of the under-$15 items are on sale at any time, so the same budget reaches a tier higher if you are not in a hurry.
- •Stationery bundles beat single items on cost per piece and look more generous as a gift.
- •Shipping is the real cost at this price. One $12 order plus $8 postage is a $20 gift; three items from one shop is not.
- •A little over half of the under-$15 shelf is flagged kid-safe, which makes this the easiest budget for buying for children.
